The fourth annual HCC Summer Winds tournament, a NEFA
points event, was another fun event with perfect sunny calm weather and
fifty players in attendance. Thanks to Mike Morin, Bernie
Kuszewski and Jason Charpentier, the course was well-groomed and the
greens were fast. Karen Ducharme provided some much appreciated snacks
once again. This tourney brought a lot of new faces to HCC, and brought
back many familiar ones. In the AM Open division, Cameron Gallant tied Karl Molitoris' tournament course record of 109 (3 under) and was the lowest scoring player. He also scored a whopping 52 (4 under) in his first round. Juano Flores played a consistent 1 under in each round to take the Pro Open division. Davis Johnson, back from the recent Worlds tournament (and his 60th birthday party) proved his mettle by scoring as well as tough competitors half his age. He handily won the Pro Grandmaster division. Jason Johnson, a long time fixture on the New England disc golf scene, took the crowded Intermediate division. No one claimed the Ace Pot. In the CTP throw-off, Brian Carter landed inches from the pin to claim the prize. |
